  • Story behind the image:

Badwater Basin is an enormous area with endless photographic opportunities. I gave myself 2 hours before sunset to hunt for just the right polygonal shapes to include in my shot. Once I found this composition, I exposed 2 sheets of film: one was just as the sun was setting behind the Western mountains and the other just after sunset. These are both images that have a wonderful serene feeling to them and capture the essence of how I felt as I watched the sunset.
